What each figure is for
- Turnover as a percentage is the directly interpretable form. It is also the form used by the Moonboard Score and OPS.
- The fraction is what LMR uses — the same measurement in different units, and a common source of confusion when reproducing values.
- The log-damped value is the intermediate LMR ranks. Since the transform is monotonic, the resulting percentile is identical to the percentile of the raw ratio; the damping is for numerical stability, not for ordering.
- Share of daily volume is a rough sense of scale: a position representing a large share of a normal day's trading cannot be entered or exited quickly at anything like the screen price.
Turnover is not market depth
This measures completed trades, not what the order book could absorb. Two assets with identical turnover can behave completely differently under a large order, and high turnover on a thin book is closer to a warning than a reassurance. Reported volume is also unverified and inflated by wash trading where it occurs. See liquidity research.
Band labels are descriptive conveniences based on where the tracked universe typically falls. They are not thresholds used by any Moonboard metric, and nothing here is a recommendation to trade.
